Due to continued growth in our client base, our Firm is looking for a dynamic Tax professional to join our growing Tax team. A Tax Supervisor is responsible for the timely completion of tax compliance and consulting engagements including preparation and/or review of tax returns, research memos, estimates, extensions and notices.

In your critical role as Tax Supervisor you will be responsible for the following:

• Client service excellence
• Technical subject matter expertise
• Training and mentoring

Responsibilities:

• Review of complex individual and business returns.
• Obtain clients financial data for individual tax returns.
• Assisting audit and accounting staff with complex tax questions.
• Preparing tax provisions.
• Assist with IRS or state tax audits.
• Supervising workflow of Tax Accountants/Interns on less complex returns, providing feedback and coaching.
• Identifying problems and opportunities for research or work other than compliance.
• Assist with all aspects of the engagement, including budgeting and billing.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a CPA license is required along with a minimum of four to five years Tax experience in public accounting, with strong accounting skills, a comprehensive understanding of tax laws/rules and implications and experience serving closely held businesses and the middle market (background in Partnerships, SCorporations, and C-Corporations). The ideal candidate must exhibit the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and engagement for various clients, manage the expectations of Partners and Managers and supervise staff, demonstrate research capabilities and must be proactive with clients with respect to tax planning ideas/processes.
