Tax Associate – Private Equity & Real Estate Practice
Tax Associates focus on tax compliance of private equity, venture and real estate funds, and serve as members of various client service teams. They must possess technical knowledge of tax preparation and compliance related to pass-through entities. In addition to the preparation of tax returns, Tax Associates may assist Seniors/Managers in identifying client issues and research as they become more experienced. Tax Associates must possess and maintain strong written and oral presentation skills.
Skills Required:
- 1-2 years of fund tax accounting or partnership taxation experience
- Knowledge of foreign reporting requirements and/or exposure to state tax returns a plus
- Experience with BNA, CCH, Checkpoint or other tax research tools a plus, not required
- Experience with fund accounting/tax software (Advent Geneva, NTAS CCH, FastTax/GoSystems) a plus
- Strong computer skills with strengths in Microsoft Excel & other Microsoft Office products
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree and/or an advanced degree in Accounting, Taxation, JD or L.L.M. is a plus, but not required
- Strong analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Initiative to seek out opportunities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact with and gain the respect of all levels of internal and client personnel
- CPA, Enrolled Agent or other appropriate certification a plus, but not required
