Metropolitan Companies is look for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team! Metropolitan Companies is a rapidly growing conglomerate of Real Estate and Construction related businesses. Metropolitan is a privately held company so all clients will be internal. The position will be a mixed role of tax preparation and tax-based financial accounting. This position reports directly to the Director of Tax Accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares Federal and State income tax returns and related schedules using UltraTax CS
• Prepares tax provision and reporting schedules
• Calculates quarterly Federal and State estimated income tax payments
• Compiles state apportionment data and reports
• Assists with income tax research and planning
• Compiles data and documentation to assist with tax projects
• Reconciles tax-related general ledger accounts
• Manages fixed asset and depreciation reporting for all entities using Fixed Assets CS
• Performs complex tax accounting functions, including identifying areas of tax planning
• Researches Federal and State tax issues and assists in providing recommendations to management
• Researches and prepares responses to State correspondence, notices and questionnaires
• Identifies opportunities for increased efficiencies and accuracy

Requirements:

• BA/BS in Accounting
• Active CPA License or working towards preferred
• 2-4 years of experience in preparing business tax returns
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral)

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
