Tasting Room Attendant Job Description

Our Tasting Room Attendants create wonderful experiences along with educating our guests that visit our Lodi Tasting Room. A unique and varied role, Tasting Room Attendants are responsible for providing wine tastings, handling retail sales, and assisting with winery events. From the wine education and company training they will receive from us, the Tasting Room Attendant will share with our guests their knowledge of our wines, products and company. Teamwork and friendly customer service are essential and is what we're all about!

Requirements

• Must be available Saturdays and Sundays
• Must represent our Vision and Values
• At least 21 years of age
• Passion for people, wine, food and service
• Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills
• Hard-working, team player
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
• Ability to exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours in length
• Must be able to read, write and understand English
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; basic reading, listening and speaking skills
• Ability to perform essential functions to Calivines standards with reasonable accommodation
• Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends and evenings
• Ability to communicate clearly with guests, managers and team members
• Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Experience in a wine environment or equivalent preferred
• Certified in responsible alcohol service (where required by state, city, or municipality), we will help provide if needed

Essential Responsibilities:

• Educate visitors on winery, describe wines, olive oil, wine and olive oil making techniques, and answer visitor’s questions.
• Promotes the sale of wine and non-wine products sold in the Tasting Room; acts as an informed resource for consumers regarding wine and olive oil making, growing, and different vintages, availability of products and brand award and accolades.
• Handles routine purchasing transactions (includes operating cash register and accounting of daily sales).
• Restocking of wines, olive oil and merchandise.
• Assist with winery and olive mill events.
• Checks identification as required by state regulation for servicing alcoholic beverages.
• Represents the company and brand, professionally, graciously and enthusiastically.
• Maintain cleanliness of the tasting room and other winery common areas.
• Attend and participate in all tasting room meetings and other general winery meetings as scheduled.
• Follow the directions of supervisors or managers
