BerryDunn is seeking a Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for oversight, facilitation, and project support relating to requirements development, procurement, and implementation of identified Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) Modules. You will be working across multiple modules such as Provider, Enterprise Data Solution, System Integrator, and other MES modules as identified. As part of our consulting team focused on state Medicaid agency clients, The Technical SME will leverage your problem-solving abilities, along with project management and systems knowledge to help Medicaid agencies improve the health and lives of individuals.
This position can be remotely-based or based at BerryDunn’s offices in West Virginia, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Arizona, New Hampshire, or Puerto Rico. The Technical SME will help clients nationally with an initial focus on the West Virginia (State) Department for Health and Human Resources (DHHR). The role will report to and partner with senior management in our Medicaid team both for client work and career development. This person will bring a mix of demonstrated project management capabilities, strong relationship management skills, and deep systems implementation experience. Travel Expectations: Willingness to travel 35-50%
- Provide oversight, facilitation, and management of identified MES module request for proposal (RFP) requirements.
- Provide expert guidance ensuring the program, policy, and business needs of the State are correctly captured in the State’s RFP requirements and any resulting contract.
- Serve as the senior systems expert with a strong understanding of the vendor marketplace and systems implementations.
- Manage the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM).
- Build relationships with project team members including client contacts, stakeholders, and vendor contacts.
- Communicate project and delivery status to our clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
- Utilize knowledge and experience to lead and project manage client projects, particularly Medicaid systems projects. This includes helping develop client deliverables such as complex analysis reports, ongoing status reports, data and technical strategy plans, and presentations.
- Facilitate meetings and training with the project team including the client and client vendors to achieve project goals.
- Bachelor’s degree - May substitute four years of applicable experience for degree.
- Ability to balance multiple assignments and achieve quality results in a timely manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership skills, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to excel in a team setting
- Strong research skills, and ability to synthesize and present information from sources such as vendors and state and federal regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft desktop applications and standard document repositories such as MS SharePoint
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on systems implementation projects in areas such as requirements gathering, requirements management and tracking, programming, release management, systems architecture, and/or testing activities
- Foundational understanding of relationship database configuration and integration concept.
- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or equivalent project management experience
- Experience working in a national or regional consulting firm, with the State, or at Medicaid vendors on system design and implementation of MES modules, data warehouses, and/or eligibility systems
- Familiarity with Atlassian Suite or similar software development and collaboration tool
