Job Summary:

Trane in Brea, CA is hiring for a Systems Sales Manager to join our team. In this role, you will function as district sales leader for business sold through the Equipment and Controls revenue streams. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships and maximizing account penetration and customer retention with contractor and consulting engineer/architect accounts. Sales constitutes all the processes and functions required for obtaining inside/outside sales and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for the following functions: customer and district sales management, new customer acquisition, customer satisfaction measurement, price management, marketing, maximizing account penetration, market penetration, customer retention, hiring and on-boarding of new sales associates, continued assessment of skills and administering necessary training, setting quotas, accurate sales forecasting and consistent use of Trane sales tools and systems.

  • Responsible for achieving annual objectives regarding profit, volume, margins, business mix, and share.
  • Manage ongoing performance by monitoring and coaching Account Managers’ effectiveness and efficiency in relation to project attainments, customer service, customer relationship development, and business profitability.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and sales team as needed. Accountable for the development and delivery of the Equipment and Systems, Service sales strategy to meet Annual Operating Plan.
  • Responsible for ensuring overall customer satisfaction to include handling high level customer or national issues and ensuring effective and timely customer review activity.
  • Operational Excellence control - establishing and driving the sales activities, forecasting, and reporting on bookings, revenue, conversion rates and maintenance of overall pipeline.
  • Accountable for the development and maintenance of the sales plans to include management of leads, quotation activity and order generation.
  • Responsible for the overall development and capabilities of the sales teams in line with Sales Force Effectiveness and other quantitative tools.
  • Responsible for our applications and estimating teams to support sales growth including training, career development and bid strategy.
  • Support human capital strategies, such as employee engagement, recruitment and retention, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Communicates compellingly both in person, one-on-one, to groups and in writing.
  • Understands and implements Bid Strategy and Complex-Sales Strategy
  • Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and sales team as needed.
  • Contributing member of Brea Area Leadership Team responsible for area specific strategic deployment including key initiatives and office culture

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience in a sales leadership role.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to:
    • DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Potential Salary Range: $150K to $200K. Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.
