Venturi, LLC, a Chenega company, has an exciting career opportunity for a Systems Engineer IV who will collaborate on the next generation of space access vehicles at one of the World's Premier Gateways to Space! Venturi employees open portals to space by providing operation and sustainment of mission-critical systems that launch and track Department of Defense, civil, commercial, and international space launch rockets. We also provide U.S. defense and space awareness through ballistic missile testing, guided weapon and aeronautical tests, and experiments to defend the United States to ensure our nation's safety.


As a member of the Sustaining Engineering team, you would join other smart, talented, and resolute engineers who pride themselves on analyzing the most difficult challenges for the launch-test range while developing and delivering solutions to meet the needs of the US Space Force and its customer.


The Systems Engineer IV will perform engineering functions to design, develop, modify, integrate, and test new subsystems on mono-pulse tracking radars on the Western Test Range at Vandenberg Space Force Base. The Systems Engineer IV will lead an engineering team with the technical aspects of projects and the supporting multi-disciplined project teams.


This position may be eligible for a hybrid telecommuting schedule after the initial training period is complete.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and execute new capabilities used by tracking radars
  • Perform complex system modeling, simulation, and analysis to provide the most appropriate technical solution
  • Plan, conduct, and assist the project manager in the execution of engineering projects
  • Coordinate the efforts of technical support personnel for assigned projects
  • Analyze, develop, recommend, and implement approaches to meet customer requirements
  • Serve as an interface for project information to internal management and the customers
  • Provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel
  • Provide expertise to restore operational systems
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another technical major in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Valid S. driver's license required
  • Interim Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize, and execute projects.
  • Good human relations and people skills to interact with internal and external support personnel and to provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment with time
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
  • Experience working with RF, including local oscillators, doublers, mixers, and
  • Working knowledge of monopulse radar tracking systems and/or shipboard radar systems a plus.
  • Experience working with high-power tube and solid-state RF
  • Experience with C-band pulsed Doppler tracking and wideband coherent imaging systems desired.
  • Familiar with legacy range radar types (AN/FPQ-6, AN/FPQ-14, AN/FPS-16, ) desired
  • Working knowledge of antennas and antenna tracking
  • Experience with digital interface design, including familiarization with interface modules, cable/wire types, and connector systems.
  • Experience with hardware systems integration and
  • Experience providing inputs for engineering project proposals within defined time
  • Proficient in the use of specialized test equipment, including but not limited to VOMs, spectrum analyzers, and
  • Proficient in technical writing for the development of technical reports, White Papers, and other technical support documentation.
  • Experience with computer systems including single-board (SBCs), servers, and
  • Familiarization with the Linux and Windows Operating
  • Ability to communicate technical issues verbally and through written media such as graphical slides and verbal presentations to management and
  • Proficient with M/S Office tool suite and CAD
  • Ability to read and create wire diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings
