About this Position:


System Engineer II/III will be responsible for proficiently executing development projects to create functioning prototypes that will eventually become production ATV/SxS vehicles, researching and applying new technologies to support business targets and maintaining global vehicle product quality.3

. KEY

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop complex hardware and software integrated systems for ATV/SxS prototype

vehicles that achieve concept targets, function performance requirements, and

manufacturing requisites with minimal supervision. Efficiently communicate and

capture cross functional control systems specification requirements and manufacturing

control points via context diagram, state diagram & system integration for the defined

subsystem that results in setting the final software & hardware specifications of global

ATV & SxS new models and mass production vehicles. Maintain accurate technical,

development, and administrative documentation as required.

  • Perform challenging system & subsystem verification, and vehicle validations of

specification targets through application of engineering principles, simulations, and

physical testing with minimal supervision. Create/maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required. Storage/handling, collaborating with the Procurement Buyer to address/resolve warehouse concerns such as damaged or missing items.

  • Establish or contribute to establishing cost targets for responsible parts that contribute

to achievement of the vehicle development targets and achieve the cost targets

through optimizing difficult part/system designs and offsetting any spec changes after

target fix through implementation of additional cost reduction ideas.

  • Create and manage schedule of individual work to ensure deadlines are met,

coordinate resource needs with supervisor, and effectively utilize contractor resources

with minimal supervision. Consistently communicate project status and participate in

project meetings, discussions, and development events.

  • Generate high-level ideas that contribute to building strategies that support the

evolution of new technologies. Support or lead maturation of ideas to prepare for

development applications with limited supervision.

  • Support market quality themes with limited supervision. Utilize problem-solving

methods to analyze root causes. Develop and implement C/M specs as necessary with

limited supervision.


Required Work Experience:

  • 5+ Engineering experience desired, preferably in Powersports or Automotive field

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical or

equivalent in related field

Desired skills:

  • Proficient knowledge/understanding of inventory control and warehouse
  • management principles/practices
  • Proficient knowledge of receivables policies and procedures
  • Proficient knowledge of equipment/software required to perform job
  • Forklift License and Crane operation and applicable safety training
  • Proficient customer service, communication, interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Honda Part Number logic, including Revision methods
  • Hazardous Materials Shipping/Receiving certification may be required
  • Competent working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel)
  • Must be able to possess a high level of confidentiality
