General Summary:

The System Analyst (SA), under general supervision but in compliance with organization policies and procedures, works with the core financial system (Symitar), additional supplemental financial systems (aligned JHA products), and various departmental users, to tailor, implement, and maintain these applications and their associated business processes. A successful candidate will have experience in many aspects of "front-line" operation, including retail banking and lending, and will be excited about acting as a primary resource in delivering that front-line capability to our members and internal colleagues. Similarly, a successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for building up a service-delivery mentality throughout IT and across the organization.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Will work to relate front-line business processes to their respective back-office JHA foundations, acting as a guide to departments who wish to implement change or improvement within the JHA stack.
  • Propose and participate in the development of "trust reporting" through monitoring and control mechanisms, ensuring that JHA systems status and any impacting issues are reported to users on a timely basis.
  • Self-manage daily activities through company-sponsored systems (JIRA, etc.) ensuring that all deliverables and issues are managed and resolved per established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Analyzes business and technical processes within the organization, in light of the features and functions of our application systems, and constantly seeks to improve systems and reporting to benefit members and staff.
  • Analyzes user needs and requests, such as rate programming or reporting functions, and the steps required to develop or modify JHA-aligned systems, to establish and adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining user access privileges, help files, training/user documentation, records, parameters, and other items as assigned.
  • Identifies and proposes changes or improvements to operating procedures to increase the capabilities of the organization through managed software and will collaborate with all levels of the organization to build consensus and secure deployment as needed.
  • Serves as a resource on the technical structure and function of JHA applications and provides input and guidance towards the development of documentation.
  • Works with vendor resources (CUTEK, MeridianLink, etc.) to develop and deploy changes to JHA-aligned systems in order to support evolving business processes. In some cases, the SA implements technical changes directly towards the completion of business objectives, e.g., writes simple code using vendor-provided tools to modify or add forms or automation to various systems as needed or desired.
  • Conducts walkthroughs (testing) of systems and enhancements, with users, to ensure understanding of pending changes and to establish consensus on content, options, and cut-over strategies.
  • Complies with all applicable Rules, Regulations, and Statutes of the NCUA and other appropriate governing bodies to include but not limited to: the Credit Union Bylaws, Credit Union Code of Conduct, Credit Union Employee Guidebook, Bank Secrecy/Anti-Money Laundering Act, Fair Housing Act, Fair Lending Act, and Fair Credit Reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Prior experience in financial services (credit unions or banks), preferring those with JHA/Symitar core processing. A successful candidate should be able to describe various aspect of retail banking and be excited about learning or already be versed in taking on the back-end processes that support those activities.

Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to communicate effectively to translate user requirements to accurate output. Proficient presentation skills required. Must be able to work in a team environment.
