Description:The selected candidate will lead ad-hoc teams of various discipline engineers to support production programs with the support and guidance of senior members of the department.

The selected candidate will lead the technical team, drive affordability, program execution, and provide engineering support to the production team. The Systems Engineer is responsible for execution of program requirements and adherence to engineering processes. The successful applicant will be the primary technical contact for the customer and will serve as the technical leader for their program(s).

The program Systems Engineer shall possess cross-program experience, be able execute production programs, and provide technical team leadership. The program Systems Engineer will work close with the Program Management Office (PMO) in the planning and execution of the project and will work closely with/support the Production Operations group. The Systems Engineer also manages program technical risks and opportunities.

Lockheed Martin Archbald is a full-service Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) facility that provides design, manufacturing, engineering, & field service support for both domestic and international customers. Our site manufacturers many products within the Precision Guided Systems (PGS), Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) and other MFC lines of business. For over 70 years our products feature safety-critical systems for nuclear submarines, aircraft carriers, & commercial nuclear power plants while also designing and manufacturing air-to-ground weapon and training systems for the US Military and international allied customers.

The Locale: Archbald is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania and is part of Lackawanna County at the northern side of the Blue Ridge Mountain range. The entire region is about 100 miles from both New York City and Philadelphia. The Northeastern PA region offers an excellent cost of living and is a great place to live. Nearby communities include Dunmore, Scranton, and Wilkes-Barre. Archbald is a suburb of Scranton, PA. If you can't find what you are looking for in Archbald, you'll likely find it in Scranton. The city of Scranton hosts five colleges and universities: Lackawanna College, Marywood University, The University of Scranton, Johnson College, and The Commonwealth Medical College and one technical school, Fortis Institute. Where can you get to from Archbald? Philadelphia is 2.5 hours to the south, and NYC is two hours to the southeast. Binghamton, NY is an hour north of Archbald. The Pocono Mountains and Lake Wallenpaupack are nearby.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience.
  • Lead and develop diverse teams consisting of new and experienced engineers
  • Understanding of Engineering planning including task planning, budget management, subcontract management
  • Experience working with internal and external organizations, including customers, suppliers, vendors, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Process Improvement and Affordability experience
  • Self-Starter Personality; Ability to multitask
  • Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams
  • Experience with MRP engineering disposition responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical and logistical challenges
  • Demonstrated collaboration with the fabrication/manufacturing teams
  • Proficiency in mechanical 3D modeling tools such as Solidworks, Catia, Creo, etc.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance so must be a US Citizen

  • Experience with SAP MRBE responsibilities
  • Proposal Development Experience; Basis of Estimate (BOE) Development
  • Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
  • Experience working with Nuclear Instrumentation and Control (I&C) equipment

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
