The Systems Administrator is responsible for performing technical functions in the maintenance and support of the corporation’s computer networks, related IT technology and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, maximum productivity, and minimal downtime.

Responsible for implementing and overseeing the overall activities required for effective and efficient information technology and information management to support the attainment of the Company’s business objectives. Providing overall desktop/device support and ongoing maintenance of infrastructure.
In addition, you will support the IT manager with planning, developing, configuring, monitoring, and organizing the network systems, security solutions, cloud, data centers, servers, and telecom.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide effective administration, support and troubleshooting on servers/hypervisors/network.
  • Design, implement, and maintain the systems that support end users in the productive use of computer hardware and software, including the development and implementation of relevant IT policies, procedures and user-training programs.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems associated with application software and operating systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, standards, and procedures for the technologies,
  • Provide Windows server troubleshooting and configuration
  • Perform hardware/software installations, upgrades and troubleshooting on workstations, laptops, servers, network devices, printers, peripherals, etc.
  • Regularly report on current IT related issues to the IT team
  • Responsible for endpoint management such as device policy management, configuration of App Protection Policies, applications packaging and deployment, patching, and hardware specs.
  • Work with vendors to resolve higher tier issues via telephone, e-mail, remote access and other methods of communication.
  • Participate in moves, additions, and changes to network and systems access.
  • Accurately log work orders/tickets and resolutions into support software management system; maintain vigilant records of this process
  • Prioritize work orders/tickets according to severity.
  • Due to the rapidly changing environment, other duties may be assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • MCSE or equivalent diploma/degree program
  • At least 5 years industry experience with demonstrated responsibility progression
  • Exceptional multi-tasking abilities and prioritization skills
  • Able to quickly analyze issues and determine best course of action using available resources
  • Self-starter with proven initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to work with users at all levels
  • Able to communicate in user-friendly non-technical language
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Team player able to work under pressure

Specific Technical Knowledge

  • Microsoft Windows Server Roles (CA PKI, AD, RDSH, File Server, and AD Services)
  • Microsoft System Center (MECM, SCCM, SCSM, SCOM, and Intune Co-Management)
  • Device management tools including Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Configuration Manager, Imaging, Android Enterprise, Autopilot and Group Policy Management
  • Microsoft SQL Database environments
  • Microsoft and Cisco Unified Communication, Email, and Spam Services
  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Cisco Switches, WLAN Controller, Access Points, and routers
  • Microsoft Hypervisor and VMWare
  • Hybrid configuration for Azure AD, Active Directory, Exchange and M365
  • Application configuration, deployment, and packaging
  • Veeam and Zerto Backup Systems
  • Local onsite Server Hardware DELL/HP Support

Required Education and Experience

  • Post-Secondary Diploma in a computer-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related information technology experience in the oil and gas industry, with experience in supporting remote and cross-border locations strongly preferred.

  • Ability to physically inspect equipment
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Overtime as required
  • Participate in an on-call rotation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
