Switchgear Power System Engineer (Centennial, CO)
Full-Time
Pay: $95k-$105k

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for Engineering/Designing UL891 switch gear and AC distribution products. Both mechanical and electrical design aptitude will be applied to create and maintain as-built drawings for switchgear and AC distribution products. It is expected that the engineer will proactively stay up to date on all applicable NEC, NFPA, IFC and UL codes/standards. The Electrical Engineer will bring design, engineering, and technical expertise to a team of established engineers and technicians with a proven track record of supplying custom electrical solutions to industry. Engineer will support production, sales and other team members in addition to primary design responsibilities.

Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or similar degree required.
- 3-5 years of Design/Engineering experience for fabrication and manufacturing is required.
- Understanding of UL 891, UL 508A is strongly preferred.
- Must be proficient with AutoCAD. AutoCAD Electrical a plus.
- Exposure to motors, motor controllers, starters, drives, transformers.
- Ability to handle design and support of multiple projects at the same time.
- Must be able to communicate with peers, engineers, and clients clearly and efficiently.
- Must be a self-starter capable of handling solo projects as well as working with a group, eager to learn and expand your skillset, and be detail oriented.
- Valid driver’s license with good MVR required.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids such as load calculations, short circuit, lighting levels, voltage drop and similar calculations related to power system engineering and design development.
- Design low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems for various industries. The design includes preparing design drawings (single line diagrams, plans, wiring schematics, schedules, cable tray, heat trace, lighting, etc.).
- Perform electrical systems design including switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, generators, CHP units, transformers, distribution panels, and other electrical distribution systems and specifying them.
- Review equipment shop drawings.
- Occasional travel by vehicle to work sites over a large geographic area.
- Complies with all applicable Company safety requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
