About the Career:

GEL is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team of professionals in our Charleston, SC office. As a member of the Surveying Group (reporting to the Surveying Group Leader), the Survey Manager is responsible for overseeing sites and directing crews on survey plans associated with engineering and construction projects. Additional duties include preparing proposals, contracts and reports; consulting with clients; preparing right-of-way plans; performing field work; and drawing/drafting maps. Frequent travel may be required for this position.

  • 10+ years of experience in land surveying-Crew chief experience preferred
  • Familiarity with commonly used surveying terms and with the use and care of survey tools and other survey field equipment used for measuring, sighting, and leveling
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong work ethic and a team-player
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • Valid driver s license required
  • High School diploma required
  • Registered land surveyor

Working Conditions:
This position may require constant standing, bending, lifting, finger/hand manipulation; potential for exposure to chemicals; exposure to odors and fumes.
