Sherwood Surveying & S.U.E. is seeking a qualified candidate for our Survey CAD Designer position in our Spring Branch, Texas, location to create and prepare detailed surveying drawings to be used in new boundary and ALTA surveys, topographic and tree surveys, and a general understanding of all survey types of projects. The individual shall be highly organized, energetic, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as a team for the Non-Exempt position.

Primary responsibilities:

• Under supervision, prepare topographic surveys, title surveys, exhibit plats, boundaries, and legal descriptions
• Drafting cad support for assigned projects
• Attend internal and external project meetings
• Review submittals and contractor requests for information
• Other duties as assigned and needed

Requirements:

• One-year CAD certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of training and experience
• One to Three (1-3) years’ experience with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil
• Must possess a High school diploma or equivalent, ability to pass background check and drug screening and possess a current Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record
• High proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Carlson
• Strong understanding of layering standards and proficiency of use
• Prefer the ability to research and collect property deed information at record facilities for the evaluation of existing or proposed easements, establish ownership information and definition of property boundaries
• Ability to take personal responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and time constraints of work product
• Possess strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
• Proficient with the use of a laptop computer and related software programs including MS Outlook, MS Excel and MS Word
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing
• Strong skills of time management, organization, and multi-tasking
• Ability to collect field data when necessary
