Position Summary

Currently seeking a detail-oriented candidate to be responsible for managing the surplus lines workflow and processes to ensure compliance with all state and federal insurance tax filing regulations.

Essential Job Functions

  • File taxes with appropriate state/federal agencies following each state/federal guidelines
  • Reconcile each state surplus lines statement and make appropriate payments
  • Manage surplus lines tax rates and company information
  • Update surplus lines documents
  • Provide customer service to clients (internal and external) regarding surplus lines
  • Handle miscellaneous accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to, bank transfers, adjustments, etc.
  • Manage and maintain all applicable state license requirements
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, carriers, vendors, etc.
  • Perform duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform duties with a high level of accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
  • Use high degree of discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. College Degree preferred.
  • Previous office related experience in a fast-paced and professional customer service environment preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of personal computers. Specifically Microsoft office products and data base management systems.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to be detail oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, variety of software, copiers, scanners, calculators and facsimile machines.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
