Surgical Technician

National Spine & Pain Centers, the nation's largest interventional pain management practice, is seeking a qualified and energetic Surgical Technician to support the team at our Brunswick, GA location.

The Surgical Technician will assist surgeons in the operating room. Chiefly, they prepare patients, rooms and equipment for pending surgical procedures. They also assist during those procedures as part of a team of operating room professionals.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • High school diploma.
  • Completion of Surgical Technician program.
  • Certification preferred
  • One year directly related experience, preferably in a group practice setting.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • Must have satisfactory background check inclusive of driving, criminal, employment reference, education, and social security.

Job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Prepares the operating room prior to surgery.
  • Stocks surgical supplies.
  • Sterilizes instruments, gowns, surfaces and other supplies.
  • Assesses medical and emergency equipment and accessories on a daily basis (when the Center is in operation), and reports any equipment malfunctioning to Center Manager.
  • Prepares patients for surgery.
  • Transports patients to and from surgery.
  • Passes sterile instruments to surgeons during procedures.
  • Monitors clinical messages by effectively communicating information to the Provider(s) and relaying associated responses back to patients.
  • Follows safety and infection control procedures at all times by maintaining individual protective protocols to X-ray exposure (aprons, shields, badges, etc.); maintaining disposable sterile equipment, supplies, and accessories following standards outlined in the Policy & Procedures Manual; properly disposing of contaminated waste following Universal Precautions and OSHA regulations; and maintaining knowledge of aseptic and sterile techniques.
