Janssen Supply Chain (JSC) is recruiting for a Finance Manager to support the expansion of Advanced Therapies Supply Chain. This role will evolve over time due to the announced worldwide collaboration and license agreement with Cellular Biomedicine Group Inc. (CBMG) to develop, manufacture and commercialize next-generation chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies for the treatment of B-cell malignancies. Initially, this role will support existing CAR-T manufacturing operations in Raritan for the first 4-6 months with parallel responsibilities leading investment and operational readiness activities for external and/or internal manufacturing capabilities of the new CAR-T program. The position can be located in Titusville, NJ, Raritan, NJ or Horsham, PA. The candidate must be able to travel (up to 50%) to Raritan, NJ location through Q1 of 2024.

This Finance Manager be integral to the growth of our global cell therapies supply chain platform, by providing direct financial and business partner support to the Platform VP and his team. This is a highly strategic role with opportunities to engage with senior management across JSC, R&D, Commercial, Business Development, and external partners. The role will focus on developing investment assessments and costing analytics, establishing accounting processes, leading all aspects of forecast and close activities. The role also has opportunity to develop and lead direct report(s).

A successful candidate would demonstrate agility, curiosity, and strategic leadership and offer the right individual the ability to accelerate development across a broad range of finance competencies (Business Acumen, Strategic Leadership, Trusted Business Partner, Technical & Analytical skills, and Talent Management)

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop financial models and investment assessments for manufacturing plant expansions, cost improvement programs, and other initiatives. Support capital appropriation requests and reviews with senior leadership as the need arises
  • Lead implementation of financial and accounting strategy related to manufacturing activities and collaboration with external partner. This includes supporting financial elements of Supply Agreements, defining financial flows, managing key supplier and external manufacturer relationships, and partnering with Finance COE to establish accounting processes and ERP integration
  • Oversee business planning and quarterly close processes for functional budgets, capital investment, and analytics. Develop long-term cost per patient projection, GP analytics, and scenario planning for LRFP (Long-Range Financial Plan)
  • Provide leadership and supervision to one Senior Financial Analyst
  • Monthly and quarterly business and financial updates to cross-functional/organization senior management including: JSC CFO, CAR-T VP, and Legend Biotech Finance VP
  • Collaborate with R&D, Commercial, Alliance Management, and external partners in various finance working groups to coordinate joint reporting
  • Ad hoc support of licensing and acquisition opportunities in the cell therapy space, which may involve close partnership with JSC BD team, JSC BD/Network Finance team, and BD Finance team to develop costing analytics and strategic recommendations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Finance or Accounting; Master’s/MBA, CPA, or CMA are preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of finance, accounting, or related business experience in a complex multi-national organization is required
  • Supply chain finance experience is strongly preferred; experience leading a team is preferred
  • Excellent analytical, accounting, communication, and influencing skills are required
  • Ability to work independently in an ambiguous and highly dynamic startup-like environment is required
  • Experience in developing and delivering PowerPoint presentations to business partners and management team is required
  • Intermediate Excel skills and financial modeling experience are required (including VLOOKUP functions and Pivot Tables)

Other:

  • The position will be based in Titusville, NJ, Raritan, NJ, or Horsham, PA with J&J Flex hybrid work schedule. The candidate must be able to travel (up to 50%) to Raritan, NJ location through Q1 of 2024.
  • Flexibility to work with global business partners in time zones outside of the US is required

The base pay range for this position is $97,000 - $166,750

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
