Midsize manufacturer of steel products for the distribution and consumer market is seeking a Supply Chain Manager that will report to the head of operations and be responsible for purchasing, production scheduling, receiving, materials handling, warehousing of raw materials and finished product distribution.

The main focus of the position will be to improve the company’s raw material purchasing operations. They will specifically focus on steel purchasing and the successful candidate MUST have significant experience in steel purchasing and have working knowledge of how to manage and source steel in the typical market with pricing fluctuations and shortages. They will also lead the materials resource planning, inventory control, warehousing and receiving of steel and other commodities. Any experience in sourcing steel internationally will also be helpful.

The supply chain manager will work on short-term and long-term planning for the department and work closely with the CFO on budgeting and review monthly expenditures to hit target budgets and continuously initiate cost reduction programs.

The supply chain manager will be responsible for inventory management and warehousing and implement standard operating procedures based on best practices.

The successful candidate will have strong systems orientation and have worked setting up processes in an ERP environment. The company is striving to get processes tied into their current ERP system and the supply chain manager will need to be a leader in this area with the appropriate experience.

$90-110k 10% bonus.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
