Duties

As a SUPERVISORY SENIOR ANALYST (MISSION ASSURANCE) at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Serves as the key individual to DTRA's capability to provide comprehensive research projects on the DoD Mission Assurance Program; along with providing program evaluation studies and other administrative studies to meet high priority DoD and Federal Government requirements.
  • Leads and oversees analyst and SMEs to achieve specific tasks, produce work products and services and meets program and production goals.
  • Responsible to inform the Director of the Mission Assurance Department of the accountability of outcomes and results, e.g., timely delivery of research project reports or program evaluation and other administrative studies, and other services provided by the division.0
  • Provides the technical vision and expertise for NE-MAI and is responsible for the researching, analyzing, prototyping, recommending, planning, developing, and implementing the Division's methodologies, authorities, permissions, and equipment for conducting research, analysis and correlation of strategic assessment data to identify patterns and trends.
  • Oversees the analysis of long term patterns and trends using probability studies and complex statistical analysis such as random samplings, correlation, and regression analysis for the Division.
  • Functions autonomously within the broad guidelines of DTRA policies and goals with authority to interface with both internal DTRA components and outside organizations (DoD, United States Government [USG], or commercial).
  • Develops and assess program/project management action plans; ensures compliance with Project requirements; anticipate timeline challenges and bottlenecks, establish milestones; and establish working relationships with the project owners and stakeholders for overall project management and resolution of problems.
  • Exercises delegated managerial authority to determine the approaches and methods necessary to carry out each assignment, including the design of overall plans and strategies for multi-phased projects to meet mission or program goals, long-range work plans and schedules.
  • Assures implementation by subordinates and others of the goals and objectives of each mission.
  • Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by assigned personnel, establishes priorities and required completion dates.
  • Identifies personnel requirements to execute technical integration, and assigns duties to make the best use of the human resources available, and selects candidates in accordance with EEO and other applicable policies/requirements.
  • Evaluates work performance of all assigned personnel. Counsels, mentors and develops subordinates appropriately rating and adhering to laws, regulations, and merit system principles and preventing prohibited personnel practices.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-15 grade level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Providing comprehensive research projects on the DoD Mission Assurance Program; along with providing program evaluation studies and other administrative studies to meet high priority DoD and Federal Government requirements.
  • Leading and overseeing analysts and subject matter experts to achieve specific tasks related to mission assurance, produce work products and services and meet program and production goals.
  • Providing technical vision and expertise in mission assurance integration along with researching, analyzing, prototyping, recommending, planning, developing, and implementing methodologies, authorities, permissions, and equipment for conducting research, analysis and correlation of strategic assessment data to identify patterns and trends.
  • Serving as a senior analyst on projects as they relate to defense critical infrastructure including briefing results of in-depth data analyses and statistics for various internal and external senior leaders of various executive committees.
  • Supervising employees and overseeing program management functions for contractor scientists, technicians, and administrative personnel in the performance of comprehensive research projects and studies.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
