Job Summary/Purpose
The Supervisor, Procurement Engineering reports to the Manager, Procurement Engineering & Commercial Grade Dedication. This position is accountable/responsible for ensuring Procurement Engineering activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures and by procedurally-qualified personnel. This position coordinates with Supply Chain, other Entergy organizations, and external organizations as required for resolution of technical issues related to procurement of materials and services. The job location is at the Commercial Grade Dedication lab located at the River Bend Station located in St. Francisville, LA. The position will require up to 25% travel to field and corporate offices across the fleet.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Safety/Human Performance: Ensures the team always places safety first. Actively promotes strong safety behaviors,performing frequent field visits to review standards and behaviors. Monitors and influences suppliers to proactively identify safety concerns.
  • Technical Performance: Oversees the performance of procurement engineering functions to support the safe and efficient generation of electricity using nuclear power. Ensures items are procured in accordance with plant design requirements and to exacting technical and quality requirements.
  • Timely Plant Support: Manage engineering work assignments to ensure procurement engineering is responding appropriately to prioritized department and organizational needs. Meet/exceed Goals: Monitors personnel and group effectiveness in achieving established corporate, department, and personal goals. Efficiency and Cost Control: Continuously identifies and proactively implements efficiency improvements. Controls cost through maximization of staff productivity and maintaining expenditures within budget. Leadership: Identifies, promotes, and supports strategic initiatives related to procurement, procurement engineering, Commercial Grade Dedication, and successful receipt of items.
  • Partnership: Accountable for establishing and maintaining healthy and positive stakeholder relationships within Engineering and external stakeholders. This activity includes establishing cross-functional and cross-sector teams with key stakeholders.
  • People Leadership: Accountable for leveraging Entergy’s Talent Management Strategy to assure the right talent is recruited, developed, retained, and deployed per key business priorities. Mentors and coaches staff. This position will lead approximately 10 direct reports.
  • Culture: At all times the Supervisor, Procurement Engineering, CDG Lab shall operate with the highest ethical standards and in full compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.



Education Requirements:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: MS/MBA degree; Professional Engineer License; Senior Reactor Operator (license or certification): Professional supply chain/procurement certification; Project Management Professional (PMP)


Minimum Requirements:
Must meet or exceed the education/experience requirements of ANSI 3.1-1978 Section 4.6.1 as Engineer in Charge and Entergy’s Quality Assurance Program Manual, and:
  • 5 years of experience in nuclear power design, engineering, construction, maintenance, operations, planning/scheduling, project management, or equivalent.
  • 3 years of supervisory/management experience in an operating nuclear power plant environment.
  • 2 years of experience in engineering is desired.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives through effective prioritization, delegation, and oversight.
  • Strong conflict management and change management skills.
  • Knowledge of nuclear plant technology, systems and components.
  • Knowledge of nuclear regulatory requirements and Quality Assurance principles/programs.
  • Ability to work with all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls), manufacturers and suppliers including contractors.

ANSI 3.1 – 1978: 4.6.1 Engineer in Charge. The engineer in charge of technical support shall have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or the Physical Sciences and have 3 years of professional level experience in nuclear services, nuclear plant operation, or nuclear engineering, and the necessary overall nuclear background to determine when to call consultants and contractors for dealing with complex problems beyond the scope of owner-organization expertise.
