Highland Hospital is seeking a Patient Transport Supervisor to join the team.

Essential job duties include:
  • Supervises and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Transport department, assuring patient flow, quality and accuracy of patient movement, and patient safety.
  • Plans and maintains work schedules, staffing to volume and assuring coverage for planned and unplanned vacancies.
  • Maintains accurate records of scheduling, attendance, and daily work activities of employees.
  • Perform routine audit of staff performance to assure quality and performance standard expectations
  • Responsible for personnel actions including, but not limited to, making recommendations for hiring, performance appraisals, performance documentation and vacation scheduling. Have verbal discussions with employees for areas of concern. Makes recommendations on matters of discipline to the Manager as necessary.
  • In absence of on-site department management, oversee activities and follows up with manager as appropriate for concerns that need to be addressed.
  • Move patient via bed, stretcher or wheelchair as necessary to assist with patient flow. Collect specimens, cultures, blood products and other items as necessary.
  • Responsible for scheduling onboarding and orientation of new staff, including Achieve mandatory requirements, department orientation, and one-one-one preceptor training.
  • Communicates and implements hospital and departmental policies and procedures to staff.
  • Responsible for assuring all annual or newly added mandatory education and Employee Health compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or GED required. Associates degree in Hospitality services or related field preferred
  • Experience: 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role required.
  • License/Certification Required: Must attend 8-week Supervisor Training Course offered by organization
  • Skills: Customer service skills, supervisory skills and excellent communication skills required
