Job Description:

Phoenix Labor Group is seeking a detail-oriented individual with at least_ 5 years of experience as a painter (in a shipyard) & 3 years of supervisory experience (in a shipyard)_ to join our team. This position requires a skilled individual familiar with paint equipment, tools, and other materials. The Paint Superintendent must be able to work safely and accurately under pressure and tight deadlines. Again, you must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Painter, in a shipyard setting, so please make sure your resume reflects your Painter & Superintendent experience.

Experience Requirements:

5 years’ previous shipyard painter experience.

3-5 years supervisory experience(An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)

Responsibilities:

• Experience in paint techniques, tools, and materials
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Directly and/or indirectly supervise employees assigned to the Paint Dept.
• Interview, hire, train employees and planning, assigning, and directing work.
• Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to manage a crew of individuals to get the job done efficiently, effectively, and safely.
• Requires working knowledge of all standard paint craft, materials, and drawings.
• Requires working knowledge of equipment, work processes and techniques used in shipyard paint work.
• Good communication and problem solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Requires knowledge of ship terminology, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
