Job description
Join our summer learning team and make a difference in lives of children ages 3 to 12. Provide a successful, safe and supervised educational setting for children participating in the summer learning program. The summer program teacher is responsible for the implementation of supplemental reading and/or math interventions. This supplemental service occurs in tightly focused, face-to-face learning sessions with the summer learning students. The structure of the supplemental service is an intervention model aimed to accelerate each student’s progress toward a narrow and specific goal. Teachers will be responsible for direct instruction, assessment, documentation and individualization of instruction based on the learning goals established for each student.
The program has 2 sessions that occur in 4 week intervals. (Session One: June 12th to July 7th. Session Two: July 10th to August 4th) Hours of instruction are 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Teachers may be assigned to work 1 session or both, depending on program needs.
Requirements:- Licensed K-12 teachers or substitute teachers
- Preference given to Marshalltown Community School District teachers
Will consider: Candidates who have recently completed student teaching in the Marshalltown Community School District
