POSITION TITLE: Summer Program Supervisor – Academic Enrichment Program

LOCATION: Reed Intermediate School

START DATE: June 26, 2022

SALARY RANGE: $35/Hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Newtown Public Summer Program Supervisor supports the Summer Program Administrator and helps to
maintain a safe learning environment for the students and staff of the District program. Planned time off is
strongly discouraged, as Summer Program Supervisor assists in the daily administrative functions of the
Summer Academic Enrichment program.

  • Support the program’s policies and procedures for a successful program.
  • Coordinate with the Program Administrator and staff to assure the program’s efficiency and success.
  • Assist in daily admittance of students and dismissal of students.
  • Supervise daily activities throughout the program.
  • Assist in preparation of the site.
  • Commitment to the following schedule: July 3, 2023 through July 27, 2023 (Monday - Thursday). The
first week, due to the July 4 Holiday, the program will take place Monday through Friday, but not on
Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Planned time off is strongly discouraged. You are compensated for the dates
worked during the program.
  • Additional dates and hours are required the week before and the week after the program.
  • The hours, during the program and above referenced dates, are 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Attend a mandatory planning meeting on June 26, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. You are compensated
for this time.
  • Other activities as assigned by the Director of Continuing Education and or Assistant Superintendent of
Schools.
