POSITION TITLE: Student Coordinator - Summer Academic Enrichment Program
LOCATION: Reed Intermediate Summer School
START DATE: July 3, 2023
SALARY RANGE: $20 - $25/Hourly

Qualifications:

• Must have completed the equivalent of 2 years of study or more at an accredited institution of higher education

OR have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a public school classroom setting.

• Familiarity with the Second Step program desired.

• Ability to assist students in social-emotional skill building, with little-to-no guidance.

• Strong, verbal and written, communication skills.

• Ability to provide a nurturing and calm environment for students.

• Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills required.

• High regard for confidentiality.

• Ability to follow directions and to be flexible.

• Commitment to contributing to a positive culture for students and other staff.

Responsibilities:

• Identify social-emotional needs in students needing support, under the direction of the summer support staff.

• Influence positive development of social-emotional skills.

• Assist students in the transition into the summer school program, and from the summer school program to the

extended-day, Summer Splash program, located at the Newtown Community Center. Some travel required.

• Assist with dismissal of the summer school program, under the direction of the Program Administrator and or

Summer Program Supervisor.

• Produce a written, daily log of interaction with students for daily submission to the program Administrator.

• Commitment to the following schedule: July 3, 2023 through July 27, 2023 (Monday – Thursday). The first week,

due to the July 4 Holiday, the program will take place Monday through Friday, but not on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.
Planned time off is strongly discouraged. You are compensated for dates worked during the program.

• Hours for the Student Coordinator are 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., during the above referenced dates. Additional hours

may be available from time to time, as requested by the Director of Continuing Education.

• Attend a mandatory, staff planning meeting on June 26, 2023, from 9am to 12pm. You are compensated for this

time.

• Maintain the districts expected code of conduct and ethics.

• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all students.

• Other activities as assigned by the Program Administrator and or Director of Continuing Education.
