UI Health is seeking (2) Storekeeper II to join our Materials Management Department. In this role you will be working under the Central Store Manager's supervision with receiving, record-keeping, and inventorying supplies. You will also maintain and issue medical supplies, linen, and equipment from the Distribution Service storeroom. This position requires daily flexibility to perform responsibilities, knowledge of routine procedures, and operational knowledge of supply distribution. The Storekeeper II serves as a lead worker to other classified staff in the Distribution Service storeroom and performs related work as required.This position has two shifts available Monday- Friday, 11:00 PM- 7:30 AM and a Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 3:30PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Be in charge of a storeroom which receives, stores, and issues a variety of general medical/surgical items
  • Independently perform difficult task in connection with checking and tallying special and/or technical items of supply
  • Handle and store special stock items requiring special treatment which deviates from established store keeping methods and which require knowledge of stock characterized by susceptibility of spontaneous combustion, toxicity, fragility, rapid deterioration, contamination, ease of physical damage, etc.
  • Check stock against shipping authorizations for agreement as to quantities, descriptions, sizes, conditions, and conformance to purchase orders using PMM
  • Rotate specified stock according to receipt date. Check supplies for expiration and/or damage
  • When required, label supply items with identifying codes, etc.
  • Keep records of issuance of supply items
  • Order supplies to maintain inventory par levels using PMM replenishment requisition
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness in applying established methods to handle supply items
  • Issue stock as requested on requisitions by checking items against stock levels on hand, suggesting substitutes, noting quantities issued on requisitions and obtaining appropriate signatures on requisitions. Mark articles with identifying codes, figures, or letters when required
  • Assist in interfacing PAREX and PMM and prepare written reports
  • Solve problems which require searching for data in technical catalogs and publications to determine substitutions, inter-change, and compliance with specifications
  • Seek advice of operating personnel to insure compliance with purchase orders for unusual orders using PMM.
  • Record documents in registers, listing such data as purchase order number, data received, date issued, etc.
  • Participate in periodic cycle counts, and other inventories of supply items stored in the area. Participate in staff meetings and required in-services
  • Assist in setting up, and or operating equipment for meeting, in-services, etc.
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year (12 months) of work experience comparable to that performed at the Storekeeper I level of this series or in other positions of comparable responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Willingness to assign duties to staff, willingness to follow orders,
  • Willingness to handle numerous phone calls requesting surgical supplies and instrumentation, and resolve work related problems.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions.
  • Willingness to accept new ideas and to learn duties of the position.
  • Knowledge of inventory management
  • Familiarity with standard concepts and best practices in a stockroom or warehouse environment
  • Analytical mind with ability to make accurate mathematical computations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Competencies in data entry, analysis, and management
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to effectively manage time
  • Ability to safely operate an electronic pallet jack
  • Skills to operate common office equipment 2+ years of experience in store keeping, inventory control, or record keeping
  • Physical ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
