Lincoln Parks and Recreation is hiring a STEAM Academy Coordinator (Grant Coordinator I) to assist with designing, developing, and implementing a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Academy at Calvert Recreation Center. The Calvert STEAM Academy will provide hands-on out-of-school time learning and exploration for elementary school students in three pathways: Agricultural and Natural Resource Science, Robotics and Engineering, and Arts and Media. The academy coordinator will collaborate closely with the School Community Coordinator, Curriculum Specialist, Community Builder, Calvert Elementary School staff, and an array of community partners.
This is a Grant Funded (Lincoln CLC) position that will end July 31, 2024.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; occasional evenings and weekends for special events and activities
Preferred qualifications: Six months experience in formal or informal Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by college level coursework in business or public administration, plus six months of experience in grant management; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
To be eligible for insurance benefits, employees must work at least 30 hours per week.
To be eligible for the retirement plan, employees must work at least 20 hours per week.
Temporary, seasonal, and unclassified employees are not eligible for benefits.
