Job Summary:
Operate and maintain stationary gas and oil fired boilers and auxiliary equipment. Takes responsibility for the operation of main chillers and related equipment. Perform maintenance calls for facility.

Essential Competencies:

• Adjusts, maintains and tests boiler and air-conditioning machinery and mechanical, electrical or pneumatic control instruments and safety devices.
• Applies cost-effective measures in utilization of time and supplies.
• Available to the Director of Facilities for emergency response situations.
• Inspects and keeps mechanical plant and all related equipment rooms clean.
• Maintains logs of plant operations and records maintenance repairs or alterations to equipment.
• Maintains professional growth and development for job-related skills and techniques through educational programs, seminars, workshops, and experience on the job.
• Operates, inspects and performs minor maintenance repairs and alterations to air conditioning machinery and emergency diesel powered electric generating equipment.
• Operates, maintains, inspects and makes minor repairs to boilers, motors, steam traps, expansion tanks, air compressors, supply and exhaust fans, pumps and valves, water heaters and related auxiliary equipment.
• Operates, maintains, inspects and performs maintenance repairs and mechanical alterations to manual and automatic gas and oil fired high pressure steam or high temperature hot water boilers.
• Performs any tasks as required for the efficient maintenance of the hospital.
• Responsible for understanding and participating in the organization-wide Quality
• Improvement Program through orientation, education, departmental and interdepartmental quality control and planning activities.
• Responsible for water treatment of boilers, softeners and cooling towers.

Experience/Qualifications:
Must have five (5) years Hospital experience or equivalent of working with boilers, chillers and related equipment with overall knowledge of general maintenance skills

Licensure/Certification:
500 H.P. Steam License preferred

Pay Transparency

The hourly rate range for this position is $26.75 -$35.11.
