What you will be doing...

As part of the Aerospace Electronics division, Staff Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting system development, leadership support, collaboration, and process improvement. This position works under a low level of supervision and performs a high level of independent work while accountable to exemplify a system thinking culture. This position requires a multi-disciplined engineering background to perform the following activities:

  • Provide support to systems engineers in requirements definition and validation
  • System Design, Implementation, Validation and Verification, and Risk Management
  • Administration and maintenance of DOORS database including creation, updates, and exports
  • Provides support to systems engineers in defining key interfaces between the systems and components
  • Enterprise Integration - Works with customers and across the organization define the architecture, plan the implementation, and execute withing cost and schedule expectations
  • Assist with Technical Analysis – performs/assists with the necessary trade studies, modeling and simulation using MATLAB or similar tools
  • Adheres to and enforces strict Aerospace design principles and processes
  • Drive pre-existing product life cycle development process; monitor process for effectiveness
  • Manage/coordinate engineering changes (i.e., requirements or design changes)
  • Participate in high-level and low-level testing and test development
  • Participate in technical reviews

What we are looking for...

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical/Science or International equivalent required
  • 8+ years of relevant experience or a combination of experience and advanced degree required
  • Knowledge of DO-178C standard, or equivalent industry standard for safety-critical software is required
  • Knowledge of ARP 4754A guideline for aircraft/systems development processes
  • Knowledge of RTCA DO-254 -Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware
  • Working knowledge of high design standards in the aerospace industry or equivalent
  • Skilled in the application of design tools and methodology such as DOORS, Agile framework, solid knowledge of engineering quality systems
  • Design, implementation, HW/SW integration of complex electronic systems and sub-systems

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
