Cargo Chief is revolutionizing the freight industry by applying cutting edge algorithms, NLP, and machine learning techniques to the problems of capacity, pricing and digital freight matching. We are a small rapidly growing startup building products that directly impact our customer’s bottom line on a daily basis.
Cargo Chief is a pre-Series A seed funded company. We have 12-18 months of runway and are expecting to raise a Series A round in the next 6-9 months to fund rapid growth and expansion. We are looking for core team members excited by the opportunities and challenges of working at an early stage company in an industry that is seeing rapid tech adoption and workflow change.

Your role at Cargo Chief
As a Staff Engineer you take the lead on our most complex and important challenges. You will work with product management and customer success to ensure features are fully speced, coded, and delivered on time.
Day to day you will spend most of your time writing code, but will also be responsible for mentoring other engineers, and helping to set the best practices and culture for the product and engineering organization.
What you bring to Cargo Chief
- At least a BS in Computer Science or a related field
- 4+ years experience hands on experience building microservice applications at scale
- Experience and desire to work in a startup environment
- Experience in Java, Python 3.8 and later, or both
- Experience deploying models and managing applications on AWS
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
