General Description:
Position is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and balancing financial transactions and records of assets purchased and owned by the City and accounting for general ledger entries and month-end balancing. This position will generate monthly financial statements and assist with other financial duties including the annual external audit as well as internal audit work. This position will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Finance Director and Finance Director in evaluating internal controls for various City operations and helping to design and implement internal audit tests to monitor compliance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or in a related field.- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having a similar position for one to two years.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of residency.
- Must already possess or obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100 and 700 within three (3) months of employment.
