Candidate will be a member of the Corporate Accounting team at a dynamic, quickly-growing public company. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for month end closing activities, analytical support and accounting projects.

The Staff Accountant will also take a proactive role in identifying opportunities to improve processes, develop and maintain effective controls and procedures.

BASE SALARY: $55,000 - $65,000

Job Skills & Responsibilities:
  • Understand underlying business and related processes as foundation for responsibilities.
  • Prepare monthly roll-forward schedules, account reconciliations, and other month-end close requirements. Ensure that all accruals have adequate supporting documentation, review for reasonableness and trends as per accrual procedures and guidelines.
  • Work with business partners and accounts payable to facilitate monthly accrual calculations.
  • Analyze and research income statement and balance sheet fluctuations. • Prepare financial statement fluctuation commentary for monthly management reporting.
  • Support Accounting Manager with various process improvement projects, including but not limited to, the implementation of policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously with keen understanding of deadlines.
  • Adapt to a constantly changing environment and to evaluate current processes, make recommendations and implement viable solutions.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience at a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • General ledger accounting experience.
  • Able to work independently as well as with cross functional groups.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills required.
  • Strong verbal and written skills along with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel (Intermediate - Advanced)
  • Able to manage a high volume of transactions timely and accurately.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $34200 and $80500. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
