Staff Accountant

Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with experience in the convenience store/food service industry and financial reporting. Must also be able to work independently in a demanding fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Code Accounts Payable invoices.
  • Reconcile the following:
    • Vendor statements (Trade and Non-Trade).
    • Bank accounts.
    • Balance sheet ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns for multiple states.
  • Review/correct daily store paperwork set from PDI.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
Competency Statement(s):
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • PDI experience in a Convenience Store setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment to produce timely and accurate results.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred but not required Skills/Abilities:
  • Corporate Tax Return Filing
  • Budget Preparation
  • Financial Review Analysis
Education / Experience:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of one year of retail accounting experience.
