Value Based Care Services –
This position will report to the Manager, Claims Administrative Support.

Based on the evolving situation with Covid–19 we are mostly remote, this includes the hiring process. We are in the process of moving to a hybrid of onsite and remote. For this role one day a week will be spent at the Rockford, IL office, so you must be within driving distance of the office.

This position will be responsible for entering and maintaining financial data, reports, records, and general ledgers that pertain to the day-to-day financial activities between Arcadia, client, and assigned health plan. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Senior Lead Staff Accountant and assist with the preparation of schedules and monthly financials for each client and will provide backup to the Accounting Specialists.

What You’ll be doing

  • Knowledge of banking transactions and reconciliations.
  • Provide backup and assistance to accounts payable and check runs.
  • Provide backup and assistance for accounts receivable and billing.
  • Download financial data from outside websites.
  • Update monthly excel spreadsheets with current data.
  • Compile and enter financials information into the client’s general ledger.
  • Assist in preparing client financials statements, balance sheets, and other reports to summarize current financial position.
  • Analyze data and communicate results to supervisors, co-workers, and clients.
  • Assist in generating 1099’s for the year.
  • Special projects, ad hoc reporting, and analysis as required

What Success Looks Like

  • In 3 months
  • Successful Understanding of Arcadia’s client base and reports
  • Successful at recording journal entries into Peachtree.
  • Successful understanding of each client’s revenue and expense streams and recording monthly revenue transactions.
  • In 6 months
  • Successful understanding of the Claims Payment Software System and processing claims check runs.
  • Successful understanding of the 3rd party claims check vendor process along with ACH transfers
  • Successful understanding of the balance sheet accounts and assisting with month-end reports.
  • Successful understanding of bank transactions and recording day-today transactions.
  • In 12 months
  • Ownership of certain client reports and working independently.

What You'll Need To Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or experience as a bookkeeper with 5 years of experience
  • Knowledge of both A/R and A/P .
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and financial reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, Excel proficiency
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Solid organizational, math, and algebra skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and multi-task
  • Deadline oriented
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Would Love For You To Have

  • Working knowledge of Peachtree accounting system
  • Medical Claims knowledge.
  • Experience with Eldorado HealthPac Claims Adjudication System
