What you will learn and contribute to

The Sr. RAN Engineer interfaces with both internal and external customers to provide commissioning and integration of RAN hardware/software as well as provide technical RAN support related services.


Main Responsibility Area

  • Plans and executes technical tasks requiring specialist skills in own professional area. Works independently with the responsibility for solving customer request cases and reporting according to processes. Identifies and solves technical problems. Shares knowledge in own professional area.
  • Provides support to clients and/or customers either onsite or remote in his/her field of expertise.

Position Description:

  • Support and perform commissioning and integration of RAN related hardware.
  • Support and perform the implementation of new software and maintenance loads.
  • Provide technical support per project and customer SLA.
  • Support lab/pilot/FOA planning and validation of new hardware and software.
  • Support the creation of MOP’s
  • Support testing of interoperability of 3rd party products
  • Customer problem investigation and support all facets of resolution
  • Provides support to clients and/or customers (typically on-site) in his/her field of expertise
  • Operates in compliance with the processes, methods and tools linked to the job and possesses service excellence awareness

Your skills and experience

  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in RAN Engineering for 5G/ 4G (LTE)/ UMTS / GSM and FEMTO.
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in RAN Engineering for 5G/4G (LTE) / UMTS / GSM and FEMTO.
  • Radio Network Commissioning and Integration of 5G/4G(LTE)/3G/2G
  • Result oriented with focus on product quality and customer satisfaction
  • Team player, open communication and ability to work in international team
  • Knowledge and practice of RAN C & I processes
  • Knowledge and practice of RAN C&I tools
  • Good knowledge of 5G/4G/3G/2G KPIs and statistical KPI reporting
  • Solid problem solving and analytic skills
  • Excellent Communication skills

It would be nice if you also had:

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Science

  • LTE technology understanding and know-how
  • Relevant experience in Maintenance, Operations and/or Technical Support activities
  • Good knowledge in one or several of the following suppliers' equipments: Alcatel-Lucent
  • Working knowledge of the following technologies: IP, Ethernet, ATM, PDH and SDH (2G and 3G transmission and signalling).
  • Knowledge of AAL2 and AAL5 - transmission medium/signalling medium, specifically for ATM.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot RAN and SC (fALU) EMS.
  • Ability to upgrade and maintain SC (fALU) EMS.
  • Ability to write MOPs/Test Cases for RAN and EMS as well as execute.
  • Ability to learn and use protocol analyzers.
  • Experience with E1/T1 links configuration and provisioning
