US Renewables organization seeks an Energy Storage Project Manager for mid-late stage development works and to lead engineering and construction of battery energy storage projects in the United States. Primarily responsible for the APS Westwing Project in Arizona.

The ESPM role requires strong project/ contract management and site leadership skills along with solid technical experience. The ESPM will manage contracts for the engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of the Project. AES projects are expected to achieve superior performance on safety, budget, schedule, and quality.

Specific responsibilities include:

· Lead a proactive and enthusiastic safety culture on all AES projects.

· Support projects with pre-construction late stage development work including: agreements and registrations, interconnection, permitting, and project agreements.

· Participate in project specification and procurement as required. Contribute strongly to AES project specification and procurement.

· Manage EPC contractors and all suppliers, Owner’s Engineers, and other project participants.

· Work closely with Fluence colleagues to ensure successful delivery and commissioning of the project.

· Lead EPC contractor engineering submittal review, and lead installation and commissioning process of all equipment.

· Track and report on project status, including budget, schedule, and safety; approve progress payments to contractors and suppliers.

· Lead all other construction management tasks including management of scope changes, and QA/QC.

· Work closely with AES functional leads including: development, operations, safety and finance.

· Ensuring project, as built, is in 100% compliance with all project documents and performance guarantees.

Qualifications

· Knowledge of current “Best Practices” in safety management, and proven experience in maintaining a pro-active safety culture on a construction or operating industrial site.

· Undergraduate engineering degree, preferably electrical engineering and/or substantive experience as an engineering and/or construction manager. Proven success as a project manager, team leader, or in another significant project leadership role in energy storage, solar, wind, or power sector. At least fifteen years relevant experience.

· Ability to critically review electrical and mechanical design drawings and supplier equipment submittals. Strong project management skills including construction scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting.

· Strong communication, commercial, and negotiation skills, including the ability to work effectively with customers, contractors/vendors, and any other project stakeholders.

· Leadership skills in a matrix environment, effective in a collaborative yet informally structured work environment. Desire to take responsibility and initiative given role as Owner’s representative on the construction project.

· Solid user of current mainstream general business software applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Travel: Expected to travel and locate at job sites, across the United States, including Hawaii.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $95.000 and $123.250/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
