Department Overview

New position within Distribution Strategy to support execution of Next Generation Store renovation program. Extensive experience in construction project management for retail banking and a certification in Construction Management is preferred.

Job Description

The Senior Manager, Business Management and Planning facilitates and leads the definition, development, and implementation of Retail Transformation initiatives for Retail Banking in support of the overall business strategy. The role leads a diverse set of functions within the Retail Distribution Strategy and Operations Group including Business Planning and Program Management.

Depth & Scope:

Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
Facilitates and leads the process of defining, developing, and implementing Retail Transformation initiatives for Retail Banking in support of the overall business strategy
Understands business objectives and leads the achievement of performance / financial objectives by recommending appropriate action to management
Provides strategic guidance and business planning support by representing the business and liaising with key stakeholders for all related information, reviews and reporting
Provides support for business planning and change management in support of Retail initiatives
Leads the overall portfolio of programs in support of the Retail Banking business, ensuring ongoing compliance and alignment with TD project management methodology by ensuring that recognized project management processes, discipline and controls are consistently applied to projects
Ensures all initiatives meet enterprise standards, allocates resources as appropriate and tracks the business case realization
Provides functional / business level communications to ensure messages to stakeholders and/or employees are consistent, appropriate and aligned to business strategies and executive management direction
Liaises with the different functional areas across the bank to ensure ongoing operational effectiveness, including but not limited to Human Resources, Finance, Learning & Development, EPMO and Technology
Works closely with key business leaders and other stakeholders to optimize TDs resources and leverage TDs operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale
Keeps abreast of emerging issues and trends as they relate to the customer experience and advice giving capabilities and assess potential impacts to the Retail network
Builds for the future and provides people leadership; oversees people plans and strategies to attract, motivate and retain a highly diverse, qualified and engaged human resource base to fulfill current and future business needs
Provides mentoring and coaching to assigned team(s)

Job Requirements

Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.

Bachelors degree required
Graduate Degree preferred or progressive work experience in addition to experience below
7-10 years related business experience, Project Management and Change management experience, and experience in leading large transformational programs and initiatives
Proven history of making an impact, developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term
Demonstrated experience successfully leading large scale change initiatives
Proven ability in developing and deploying a vision and impact/influence others to align to that vision. Be known for providing creative thought leadership while also listening and engaging others to provide input in the shaping of that vision
Strong people management skills with demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams
Powerful communicator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees and who is a strong advocate and leader in delivering a positive employee experience
Confident presentation and facilitation skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with senior management at all levels
Demonstrated relationship building skills, with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of positive influence
Expertise in working effectively in teams requires a track record of working cross-organizationally and with multiple stakeholders at varying levels
Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities

Qualifications

Certification in Construction Management preferred
