- Prior experience with fortigate/fortinet or palo alto is important - they use them all in their system at different levels of their network - they use both on a day to day basis.
○ Cisco devices
- The focus of this role is in firewalls, but other network or security devices are helpful - Gigamon for traffic aggregations and SSL break and expect
○ Any break and expect or Gigamon experience - know gigamon or have worked with in the past
- Government networks and DOD stigging/ compliance work is helpful

Description-

Required Skills:

U.S. citizen.
Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
10+ years of related, hands-on experience.
DoD 8570 compliant, minimum IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ or greater).
Thorough understanding of best practices pertaining to network security.
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining multi-network transport.
Experience configuring and deploying Cisco series LAN/WAN switches, routers, firewalls, optical networks, and Intrusion Prevention/Intrusion Detection devices.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Next Generation Firewalls (Fortinet and Palo Alto).
Network and troubleshooting experience with firewall technologies: NAT, Security profiles, routing, and IPSEC VPN Tunnels.
Demonstrated ability to understand the system and its environment of operation.
Broad understanding of network infrastructure topologies, security policies, firewalls, and the L2/L3 switch and router infrastructure.
Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting network systems, switching, and routing protocol standards such as MPLS, OSPF, BGP.
Experience managing and troubleshooting DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and NTP in a large multi-site environment.
Experience with network security, including firewall, IDS/IPS, VPN, and vulnerability remediation.
Proven ability to create and document processes and create work instructions.
Ability and willingness to provide servant leadership and hands-on guidance, training, and support to junior staff.
Flexibility to operate in a highly dynamic environment while ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness.
Experience working independently, as a part of a large team, and directly with customers.
Experience supporting teleworkers and remote access technologies.

Desired Skills:

Highly desired; preference shown to candidates with:

Active Top Secret security clearance.
5+ years of subject matter expertise supporting DoD, DISA, and/or JSP Network environments.
Experience with F5 load balancers to include troubleshooting, configuring, upgrading, maintaining, and monitoring an enterprise F5 load balancer network architecture.
Palo Alto/Fortinet certification.
Experience with Infoblox IP Address Management (IPAM) and DHCP preferred.
Hands-on experience utilizing Atlassian’s JIRA and Confluence.
