Senior Drupal Developer

***This position requires the ability to obtain a Department of Energy clearance to be considered.***

SUMMARY

CNSP is looking for Sr Drupal developer. The Drupal developer will support the Department of Energy (DOE). Working hand in hand with the Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master, Senior Drupal developer, and DOE stakeholders. The position will work under a high degree of system specific knowledge and a background in Drupal 9/10 technology currently being incorporated with the DOE systems. D evelop a website application based on system specifications; provide support in the development of detailed design specifications; perform extensive testing of programs for program verification; and apply standards for program structure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Support DOE redesign and rebranding of the DOE website with additional enhancements and increased functionality that is 508 compliant, mobile optimized, speed optimized, and user- friendly.
  • Define applications problems, determines system specifications and designs data processing procedures.
  • Codes, tests, installs and documents detailed programs while applying the U.S. Web Design System Standards — a General Services Administration (GSA) design system for the federal government to make it easier to build accessible, mobile-friendly government websites to all products developed.
  • Prepares logic and other diagrams illustrating the program, system and application architecture.
  • Controls and schedules assigned work to meet deadlines including the possible technical supervision of other data processing staff.
  • Interfaces with the customer to gather pertinent information to further define program and application specifications.
  • Analyzes existing system and program logic and makes revisions.
  • Able to meet deadlines and think strategically .
  • Performs other related duties of comparable level as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No Supervisory/ Management Authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE .

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a closely related field is required.
  • Experience using Trello.
  • 6 - 8 years’ experience of Drupal development .
  • Candidates must be US Citizens.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Working knowledge of Agile Methodologies and using JIRA.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Flexibility and, above all, reliability
  • Experience/skills in setting priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Have focus and independent drive to complete tasks accurately and on-time
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; both oral and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products: Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Through understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing)
  • Experience with writing technical documentation, including requirements, user stories, help documentation, and job aids.
  • Ability to architect enterprise Drupal solutions including data, display, and information architecture
  • Experience building responsive websites using Drupal 9/10 CMS, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery
  • Knowledge of PHP, PHP files and theme functions, and knowledge of the Drupal theme layer
  • Ability to write JavaScript with and without the use of frameworks such as jQuery
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Experience using and developing CI workflows for automated builds and deployments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to fix bugs.
  • Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen
  • Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is considered a remote work with some travel to the DOE facilities for meetings.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $135k - $140k annually
