Job Description:

In this role you will lead the Development Operations Instrumentation Lab in Middletown, CT. which supports both Military and Commercial engines including the NGPF programs. Your team will be responsible for working specialty instrumentation labs and assisting with instrumentation final dress and routing during assembly,

Responsible for Supervising a group of Hourly Instrumentation Lab Technicians in a Development Engine Assembly environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocating work and assigning manpower and providing Leadership for the Employees in the areas of EH&S, CORE, FOD, Quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Interfacing with the 1st/2nd/AWW Supervisors and Management on daily key action activity (carryover)
  • Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building through daily toolbox meetings, effective communications, and in developing an efficient team that is responsive to changing requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with members of management on activity status and plans; and employee team development that is responsive to program requirements and changes.
  • Establish standards and expectations for work effort and performance for subordinates. Give consistent feedback on performance to those standards. Effectively Coach employees to improve performance when needed.
  • Perform Administrative functions as related to Bargaining Unit employees including maintaining training, quality and attendance records
  • Establish work schedules considering customer requirements, resource availability and other priorities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires one of the following, an Associates degree and 7 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen due to government contracts
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • US Government security clearance
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Working knowledge of CORE principles, i.e., Lean, QCPC, DIVE.
  • Supervisory experience with a Collective Bargaining Unit
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams using CORE Tools to obtain high levels of performance to accomplish goals.
  • Experience with Instrumentation and gas turbine engines
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving, analytical, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of Management.
