Job Summary

The Speech Therapist is accountable for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of inpatient and outpatients in relation to speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders. The Speech Therapist will maintain communication with health-care providers to advise them of services and to facilitate appropriate exchange of referrals. Will consult with medical staff and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status. Prepares reports for hospital charts, referring physicians, and third party pay organizations within hospital guidelines.

Education and/or Experience

• Master’s Degree required
• Graduate from an accredited speech therapy program required.
• One to two years’ experience preferred

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Licensed by the State of Iowa required.
• Basic Life Support certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Completion of the Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse courses for Iowa Mandatory Reporters within 90 days of employment and every three years thereafter.

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday (days with evening/weekend/holiday coverage PRN)
• Must have the flexibility to accommodate for fluctuations in workload and patient census.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.25 - $45.75 per hour
