Job description

The English, Speech, and Journalism Department invites applications for a Speech Instructor position starting Fall 23 for the 2023-2024 academic year. The primary responsibilities include administering courses, delivering and developing curriculum, evaluating student performance in accordance with departmental and national standards, advising students, and service to the college. Courses are taught in a traditional classroom setting, hybrid, and online. Classes are conducted on all TTC campuses and at local high schools; therefore, travel is required.

The successful candidate should be available to teach in the classroom, online, during day and/or evening courses, and at all locations, as assigned. Excellence in teaching as demonstrated through effective instructional strategies and techniques in the classroom is required.

Normal teaching loads are 5-6 courses per semester in fall and spring and summer teaching assignments may be available. This position reports directly to the department head. Must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.

The position requires a master's degree in communication or a closely related field with 18 or more graduate hours in communication.
