The Opportunity:
The Daytona Beach Flight Training Department is currently accepting applications for the Specialized Training Manager (TM) position. The Specialized TM provides administration and support of flight training to include safety of training, quality of training, and student service. This position manages a specialized team with responsibilities that fall outside those of normal day-to-day flight training. The Specialized TM works closely with the Flight Scheduling and Flight Data & Certification offices to ensure the accuracy of FAA certification and compliance with training requirements. This position is responsible for monitoring and assisting students with end-of-course eligibility, scheduling, and document issues. They will serve as a liaison for the Flight Department with the Student Financial Services and Campus Health Services offices, as well as with each of the three ROTC branches. They will supervise and adjudicate student attendance, and act as a staff advisor and management point of contact for the student-run Flight Professional Conduct Board. The Specialized TM is responsible for issuing grades for all flight courses. They also coordinate with other flight department management and leadership.
Qualifications
Required education, skills, knowledge, and abilities:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of work-related experience
- Analytical skills with an in-depth knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications
- Management, organizational public relations, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize with minimum supervision
- Excellent supervisory skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent ability to communicate with peers and students
Preferred licenses, certificates, and/or security clearances:
- Commercial pilot- airplane, Airplane Single Engine Land, Multi-engine land
- Instrument airplane
- Certified Flight Instructor Instrument
- 500 hours dual instruction given
