Fosdick Fulfillment has an immediate Inventory Control Specialist position available on our Monday through Friday shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm, with some overtime available. Hourly pay starts at $17.15 an hour. Must have reliable transportation to be able to travel between our CT facilities in Wallingford, Meriden, Berlin and New Britain. All mileage will be reimbursed.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for conducting inventories on a periodic basis for all Clients. The general purpose of this position is to assure that the client’s records of merchandise at the facility are accounted for and discrepancies are reconciled.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

This position works under the direction of the Inventory Control Manager, Inventory Control Supervisor, Operations Manager or Warehouse Supervisor.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regular and predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this position, including arriving at your work station on time at the start of your shift and after rest and meal periods.
  • Monitors unshippable tools, investigates and determines the accuracy of merchandise received and subsequently pulled
  • Works with team to ensure monthly skid counts are accurately reported
  • Monitors product transfers between warehouse facilities.
  • Monitors and audits bin locations for accuracy.
  • Plans, coordinates and oversees Client requested inventories
  • Schedules, oversees or personally conducts special and periodic cycle counts. Reviews reporting prior to releasing to Client.
  • Makes necessary inventory adjustments, based on quality of inventory, discrepancies found, etc.
  • Confirms and ensures all necessary inventory adjustments are accurate and justified
  • Audits ‘Z’ locations, make necessary adjustments as needed
  • Assists with and monitors Client close outs.
  • Communication with Client Service Areas, Clients, and other internal departments to discuss inventory issues; cycle counts, discrepancies, audit differences, etc.
  • Research and review inventory discrepancies, document findings and report to Inventory Control Manager or Inventory Control Supervisor
  • Insures warehouse space is used efficiently.
  • Tours warehouse facility daily, and maintains constant alert for hazardous conditions. Takes immediate and appropriate actions when necessary to relieve such conditions.
  • Makes certain that the housekeeping of warehouse area meets with company expectations.
  • Ability to train on and operate Powered Industrial Trucks to assist with physical inventories. (Effective April 2019, all existing grandfather into role)
  • Performs inventory audits with clients after physical inventories have concluded.
  • Available to work overtime, as needed, due to physical inventories. This may include staying late after shifts or coming in on weekends and/or holidays.
  • Assists, when necessary, with other production, warehouse and/or inventory related work as required by Supervisor and/or Manager.
  • Complies with safety rules and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a High School diploma or the equivalent and three to five years’ experience and/or training in warehousing/inventory control, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be computer literate, have a basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be proficient in mathematics and writing. Must have reliable transportation for occasional travel between our CT facilities in Wallingford, Meriden, Berlin, and New Britain (all mieage will be reimbursed. .

Work Environment

The work is conducted under typical warehouse surroundings. Some moderately uncomfortable elements might be present such as heat, cold, dust and equipment noise.
