What you will do: As an educator with Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA), you are considered a guardian to our students (whom we refer to as scholars). Therefore, as a Special Education Teacher, you must establish an exemplary classroom culture that balances high expectations with love and support. You will also build trust and community in your classroom via clear and timely communication with both your scholars and families. At PLA, we have created a blended-learning model that is specifically designed to raise achievement for historically underserved scholars. We support your creativity and wholeheartedly encourage a rigorous, personalized, and well-rounded educational experience to meet the unique needs of each scholar in your classroom.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Special Education Credential required OR Enrolled in an accredited teacher licensing program
• Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
• Strength in using data to drive instruction
• Willingness to align your mission with the vision of JRLA's Core Values
