About the Role

Can you lead customer conversations, technical and functional consultants, and develop cross-platform solutions that solve critical business problems or requirements that span the complete meter to cash landscape for modernizing utility companies? You will collaborate with multiple levels of client management and subject matter experts to deliver a clear specification of the customer’s business requirements and data-supported solutions. You will create and communicate implementable and cost-effective designs to our clients and executives while relaying value added benefits and associated Return on Investment (ROI). You will be asked to provide team leadership, technical and functional solutions guidance, and recommendations that help clients solve for both short-term and long-term business needs.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will apply your professional mastery and industry-wide understanding of the business domain area, technology, tools, and methodologies to develop solutions in leading edge technologies, spanning enterprise application architectures, for business-critical situations.
  • You understand current product technologies and future industry and information technology trends and and you will apply them appropriately in formulating solutions for our clients.
  • You will analyze software requirements, across multiple solutions and domains, define solution parameters and specifications.
  • You will manage functional and solutions architecture scope of project to reduce business and technical risks for both client and Origin.
  • You will review and guide clients and Origin teams through multiple designs and potential solutions, to ensure the formation of a creative and cohesive solution.
  • You will plan and facilitate design workshops and influence key stakeholder group in and outside of sessions on your design proposals.
  • You will also manage the client’s expectations so that resultant system meets budget and time constraints.
  • In this role, you will also assess existing client challenges/opportunities and present additional Origin service offerings, to existing and new prospective clients.
  • As Origin continues to expand its portfolio of proprietary products, you will also collaborate with internal Origin product development teams on new product concepts based on the knowledge you have gained in prior client engagements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will mange or mentor junior project team members or other assignees, including both client and other Origin employees and hold accountability for their production and growth.
  • You will also be responsible for leading multi-tiered workstreams as part of larger multi-product solution implementations.
Requirements:

CONSULTING EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; listening skills, influencing skills and related consulting capabilities.
  • Leadership in change management, transformation and system modernization.
  • Superior ability to understand, articulate and address business issues, business drivers and needs with platform-spanning ERP, CIS, Billing and Payments solutions.
  • Mastery and consistent management of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Able to plan and facilitate design workshops, including the ability to influence key stakeholders and groups, in and outside of sessions on your design proposals.
  • Able to conceptualize a solution of significant scope, across multiple business processes.
  • Able to manage the client’s expectations so that resultant systems and solutions meet budget and time constraints.

SOLUTION AND BUSINESS DOMAIN EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of experience in the Utilities space with implementation, support, and end user experience management on enterprise CIS software.
  • At least 4 years of consulting experience in the implementation of Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CC&B), Customer to Meter (C2M) or Customer Cloud Service, with direct experience as an architect, crafting solutions in at least 75% of sub-modules within the C2M/CCS application.
  • Deep business understanding of the value, benefits, and functional capabilities of Customer Information System (CIS) solutions as part of overall Meter-to-Cash business processes.
  • Experience working with Meter-to-Cash business processes in supporting Utility transition from legacy CIS solutions to Oracle Utilities CC&B/C2M/CCS, up to or beyond CC&B Version 2.8 and C2M.
  • Experience with projects involving integration of Oracle Utilities CC&B/C2M/CCS and other related Edge products with other utilities enterprise applications and customer facing initiatives (e.g. Customer Self Service, Field Work Management, etc.)
  • Experience working across the Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF) and general understanding of design and development principles, including the integration with other appropriate CIS and ERP solutions applicable to the Utilities industry.

SUPERVISORY SKILLS

  • Advanced experience managing, leading and mentoring junior project team members, including both client and other co-workers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-tiered workstreams as part of larger multi-product solution implementations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s (4-year) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, Software, Systems or related technology-focused programs is required.
  • 8+ years overall professional experience; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OR REGISTRATIONS

  • Oracle Utilities Implementation Certification for one or multiple products is preferred but not required

  • Must be able to travel as needed, once COVID 19 restrictions ease and our “new normal” is clear.
