Solid Surface/Millwork Shop Manager

Who we are: Steve Ward & Associates (www.swainc.com) is a privately owned prime subcontractor specializing in institutional casework, millwork, solid surface, and laboratory equipment used in schools, colleges/universities, research/commercial laboratories, and healthcare facilities. Since its founding in 1979, SWA has developed a professional team of salespeople, estimators, project managers, installers, and support staff who deliver beautiful and inspiring environments in which learning, healing, and discover occur.

Where we are located: Our corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility is in Nashville, TN with three regional offices in both Tennessee and Florida. We perform projects across the Southeastern US. This role is based out of our Nashville, TN office.

We are looking for teammate with 5 plus years of Managerial experience in leading a Solid surface/millwork shop. Knowledge of how to fabricate and price solid surface are a must.

Job Responsibilities:

Leadership/Support

1. Provide a safe working environment

2. Provide leadership and oversight of SWA manufacturing process and its personnel

3. Provide leadership to the shop engineering department

4. Provide leadership for all accounting within SWA manufacturing division

5. Maintain existing company culture

Strategy and Direction

6. Manage the P&L statement for SWA manufacturing division with assistance/support from SWA CFO and shop bookkeeper with a focus on maintaining profitability. As required, work to develop direct business for the shop separate from Steve Ward & Associates.

7. Accept responsibility for all hiring, firing, and part-time employment decisions within our manufacturing division

8. Work to find areas of continuous improvement within the manufacturing division in order to maintain a competitive pricing structure through managing costs

9. Spearhead strategic initiatives related to SWA manufacturing and engineering

10. Assist in all pricing required by SWA estimating department and find ways to implement a cost structure which can be referenced while manufacturing manager is unavailable

11. Spearhead the addition of solid surface fabrication into the manufacturing process

Internal/External Relationships

12. For especially unique millwork items, work with the director of installation, engineering staff, and field project management team to price millwork and solid surface in a way which improves our chances of success and profitability during the building and installation processes

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
