Software Engineer (Full-Time)

Join our quickly growing team to enable the future of single cell biology! We are seeking a Software Engineer that will help build Nodexus' product portfolio of life science tools. This is an opportunity to work closely with the core team in a fast-paced startup environment. The work involved will include building cutting edge features and interfacing with engineers, biologists, marketing, and sales. Bringing both efficient functionality and walk-up usability to customers is at the center of Nodexus' mission of democratizing tools to boost research output across the quickest growing biological workflows, and this role will be critical in implementing new software features and offerings to the broader biotech space.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze user requirements
• Write and test code, refining and rewriting it as necessary and communicating with any programmers involved in the project
• Create technical specifications
• Write operational documentation with technical authors
• Maintain systems by monitoring and correcting software defects
• Work closely with other staff, such as mechanical, engineers, electrical engineers, graphic artists, UX designers, other developers, systems analysts, and sales and marketing professionals
• Develop and execute unit tests, scripts, and applications
• Provide technical support and guidance for customers, sales personnel, and other support staff (biologists, engineers, etc.) related to software bugs and features

Requirements:

• Strong software development skills in C++, Visual Studio, MFC, Git (3+ years of experience)
• Attention to detail and strong verbal and written skills
• Knowledge of object oriented programming and design patterns

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science or related field

Nice-to-haves (but not required):

• Experience in WPF, ASP.NET, C#
• Experience working in the life science, biotechnology or medical device industries
• Experience with website, cloud-based and mobile development

Location & working hours:

This role is located in our headquarters in San Jose, CA and requires onsite presence during the workweek on a regular schedule. We offer some flexibility to define this schedule within reasonable business hours.

Compensation:

Nodexus offers highly competitive salaries, stock options, bonus and benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, and 401(k) with 3% employer contribution.

Salary Range: $115,000 to $145,000 for San Francisco Bay area.
