SEGULA TECHNOLOGIES is assisting a major automotive OEM in hiring a Software Architect to join our growing team in Rochester, NY.

This is a DIRECT hire opportunity, NOT a Contractual role.

Job Description
  • Deliver end to end software deliverables such as software requirements specifications, software design documents, and professional high quality software executables.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and product development teams and cross-functional partners.
  • Work closely with Systems Engineers to understand operations and translate them into clear software requirements.
  • Lead and/or participate in technical reviews.
  • Work with a field support team to diagnose customer issues and quickly resolve issues.
  • Follow the Quality Management Standards and necessary vital software design standards (Applying required processes and standards).
  • Keep a strong link with the software developers, hardware designers, Reliability and V&V departments, through the whole software design cycle.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement (Return on Experience process, …)

Qualifications
  • B.S/M.S. - Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science.
  • Programming experience: C, 386 Assembly.
  • Knowledge Of- Linux, FPGAs, development of vital systems.
  • Exposure/ Knowledge of Protocols – Digisafe.
  • Exposure/ Knowledge of Standards: CENELEC SIL4 / DO178A / DO178B.
  • Proficient Experience on programming with Microcontrollers.
  • Understanding of Computer Engines and VM Ware.
  • Strong Problem-solving aptitude.
  • 10+ years of experience in design of Software modules in complex embedded systems.
  • The ideal candidate should have good experience in Embedded/RTOS applications, software processes, and coding guidelines.
  • The ideal applicant will be able to thrive in a highly collaborative workplace and actively engage in the development process spread across different geographical locations.
  • Significant experience in software development including design, analysis, development, testing and delivery.
  • Rail industry background is highly desirable, and similar safety critical industries can also be considered.
  • IT Skills: MS office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in English language.
