POSITION DESCRIPTION


SUMMARY:

This hybrid position will provide direct support to VOAMI’s Vice President of Social Services in day-to-day operations, administration, growth, and expansion of Social Service Programming.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Administrative
    • Assist in supporting the Vice President of Social Services with daily operations
    • Schedule, coordinate and facilitate meetings
    • Assist in hiring process and onboarding process for Social Service staff
    • Maintain due dates for grants, applications, and milestone events for pogroms
    • Collect data, reports and information that support current and future programming
    • Maintain office equipment, mail documents / packages, and copy as needed
    • Order supplies relevant to project implementation
    • Manage local purchases and required documentation
    • Manage Social Services Stakeholder Database
    • Administrate quarterly data reports in partnership with Data and Compliance Manager
    • Process Vice President’s American Express receipts for agency reconciliation
    • Assist with implementing up-to-date program files, policies and employee forms
    • Coordinate with Administrative Support Staff as needed
  • Projects
    • Assist in supporting the Vice President of Social Services in Strategic Planning and Growth
    • Assist in representing VOAMI with Public and Government Stakeholders
    • Develop and maintain relationships with potential funders, stakeholders, and community agencies
    • Provide implementation support of special projects within social services
    • Support social services in recruiting, training, and talent management
    • Support the facilitation of events for consumers, staff, and stakeholders
    • Represent VOAMI at state and regional meetings that support social services
    • Track, follow-up, and ensure timeliness of projects implemented by Social Services
    • Assist in Developing launch plans for new programs and services within Social Services
    • Engage community and internal stakeholders for feedback on new potential projects
    • Oversee and Facilitate Intern Recruitment Efforts for social services
    • Oversee and manage collection, compellation, submission, and storage of success stories
  • Compliance
    • Assist in auditing overall Social Service portfolio program performance in partnership with the Vice President and Data and Compliance Manager
    • Align all recommendations to comply with VOAMI policies and procedures
    • Align all recommendations to comply with best practices according to Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)
    • Coordinate with Compliance staff regarding the update and implementation of policy updates

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in fast-paced work environment
  • Keen sense of business acumen
  • Familiarity with office equipment and general office procedures
  • Ability to make sound decisions
  • Ability to produce accurate work product in a timely manner and consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work independently

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Educational background may include a bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, public health, psychology, social work or another related field strongly preferred.
    • Combination of experience and education can be considered in lieu of degree.
    • Experience with grant writing and grant management preferred
    • Two years’ experience in human services or nonprofit agency
    • Must maintain a valid Michigan driver’s license and driving record that satisfies insurability requirements
    • Must have home high-speed internet to work from home.

Environmental Working Requirements:

Work is done in either an on-site or remote office environment with exposure to computer screens. Works

closely with Managers and Directors within the Social Services department.

Travel:

This is a hybrid role with travel up to 40% of the time to our headquarters (Southfield, MI) or our offices in Western Michigan.

The agency may in its sole discretion fill this position on a full-time, part-time or contractual basis with the individual best fit to perform the duties of the job.
